A historic manor house in the south Cotswolds

Situated just north of Bristol and easily accessible from the motorway, De Vere Tortworth Court, Wotton Under Edge, is a historic hotel in stunning surroundings – a place where a centuries-old story meets an exceptionally modern experience.

A popular choice for meetings, events, business stays and Cotswolds breaks, the Grade II* listed hotel is close to Junction 14 of the M5, 40 minutes from Bristol airport and just 20 minutes from Bristol Parkway station. And with the introduction of non-stop trains to London Paddington taking just over one hour, De Vere Tortworth Court has never been so accessible. You’ll also find Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath and the southern Cotswolds all within an hour’s drive.

Recorded in the Domesday Book, the estate was the ancestral seat of the Ducie family for 350 years. Following a multi-million pound restoration, the manor house now combines 21st-century style with a wealth of original features and fittings.

Explore the 30-acre estate and you’ll find the Victorian arboretum, housing more than 300 plant and tree specimens – download our map here. Relax and enjoy seasonal dishes prepared using fresh, local ingredients at our two inviting restaurants.

Free, superfast Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and up to 100m within the grounds.

Outstanding stay, with beautiful grounds and rooms, it was nice and tidy, friendly staff, and beautiful facilities. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, would 100% recommend it and would love to return and visit again.

Can I say that my 10-night stay at the Tortworth de Vere hotel was amazing? I felt like I was living in a castle! Absolutely gorgeous location and surroundings, great rooms & plentiful, delicious foods on offer. Best of all…kind an attentive service from all staff - in particular the following:
Rebecca - reception
Hannah - Atrium
Flo - restaurant
Daniel - night porter
Andre & Laura - housekeeping (thank you so much!)
Gina - reception
Marek - night supervisor
ALL chefs in both the restaurant & the Atrium
My heartfelt thanks to you all for taking such good care of my group!

We stayed for one night with our two dogs who were Made very welcome . Food was delicious breakfast was extensive . Room was spacious , super king bed was comfortable and very clean and the gardens are exquisite . We would definitely stay again many thanks

We stayed 2 nights in a de lux double room which was vey spacious, all amenities and the bed was really really comfortable - the best we have come across in hotels to date. Service was brilliant and attentive. We enjoyed the spa facilities pool and jacuzzi also. The food in the restaurant was pricey however of great quality and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was hearty and we enjoyed the grounds which were beautifully manicured. Considering there are quite a few rooms in the hotel it wasn’t noisy at night and they also have some dog friendly rooms which was lovely to see and didn’t cause any issues at all. Overall a really lovely weekend stay meeting my sister and brother in law for a weekend away. A big thank you to all the hotel staff for making our stay so special!
